• Housing: the cheapest studios (15-20 sqm) run roughly 6,000-8,000 CZK a month; a one-bedroom outside the centre costs about 13,000-22,000 CZK, rising to 18,000-28,000 CZK in central Prague 1 or 2

How to Apply to Charles University from Asia

The general application deadline for the 2026/27 intake is April 30, 2026, though this varies significantly by faculty. Some faculties open applications as early as the previous autumn, and the highly competitive English-taught General Medicine programme closes as early as November 30, a full five months ahead of most other faculties. Student Visa and Health Insurance for Non-EU Students

Students from Singapore, Malaysia, and most of Southeast Asia need a long-term student visa before arriving, since these are non-EU and non-Schengen nationalities. Apply at your nearest Czech embassy at least 60 days before your intended travel date. Processing typically takes about two months, during which your passport stays with the embassy.
